The last few days have been mostly red in the KW Tracker, with some precipitous keyword declines. Yet yesterday was a record high in page loads, according to Stat Counter. I don't profess to have a clue how to reconcile those two items.
Page loads are the number of pages viewed by your visitors. You can have one visitor to your site who views 10 pages therefore 10 page loads. Likewise you can have 5 visitors to your site who view 1 page apiece therefore 5 page loads. There is not normally a direct correlation between visitor numbers and page loads. If the number of page loads relative to your visitor numbers is high then you have a sticky site, which is normally a good thing. If your page load numbers equalled your visitor numbers you would have a problem as each visitor is leaving after the first page they visit. Personally I don't worry too much about page loads.
Thanks for the info, Ireland. Related to that, the site's daily averages are 359 page loads by 108 unique visitors. Would that roughly 3.5-to-1 ratio be considered "sticky," average, or what? P.S. Ancestors from Dad's side are from Ballyhaunis, County Mayo.
Not really any one(s) in particular, Shawn. I just thought it curious that many of my KWs were substantially red for the day on which my page loads were at a record high (653 from 140 uniques).
