I have a website which hardly has any pages. Most of the content is on the home page. Will my site be able to rank high even though I don't have many pages? I'm guessing that it should not be a problem as the page it's self has alot of content and gets updated regular. I'm not sure though... Any help would be great, thanks!
To get high rankings you have to get a lot of relevant links. Try to get links from those sites, witch outrank you. Or try to get links from where your competitors have. Its easy, but it can take years. Negotiate for links or if they wont give you, you can trade it for something, even buy it... The other important thing is to get links from relevant sites. Cheers,
You probably should add a few pages of relevant content. But it doesn't mean you have to have 100+ pages of garbage, if anything adding garbage, just for the sake of adding content, can get you in trouble.
If you want to rank high in SERPs you must build a lot of high quality links to your site. Be sure to make your link building look natural to Googles eyes.
You need more content to your website. You may rise in the SERP, but that'll only be temporary. So add a few pages of content as Google doesn't like a webpage with just ONE page which is the main page. Yes, backlinks will get you far - but there's less link building involved with more pages on your website.
A lot of people say that content is essential and important. If we have a new site with hundreds of unique content and If we have a new site with hundreds of inbound links. Witch will rank first? The unique content site will rank for a lot of long tail keyword The linked site will rank better for a specified word. SO!!!! If you want to rank for a specific keyword, use linking. But if you want to have a lot of visitors from search engines for long tails use content. Keep this in mind. Cheers,
I say work on both building links AND building content. A website starts small. Over time it will grow. A lot of sites with only one page can rank on google, especially sites like those pagerank checkers and stuff.
Yes, if you can build more relevant links which can help your rankings to up but having more contents also is good for your site to push some keywords to rank in a better position.
You can rank a 1 page site if you have the back links pointing to it using the right anchor text. However, you will want to add more content to your site. 1. More content = more chances to gain back links from people reading. 2. More content = more relevant of a site in the eyes of google which is what they want ranking in the SERPS Just make sure the content is of good quality and not copied from another website. Copied or poorly spun content will not get your website very far.
If you are updating your site then its very good for search engine to read it again and again. More pages increase the chances of more backlinks but if you have only a single page then you need to develop good backlinks Try one way backlink and also leave links in competitors site. Do article submission for good page rank and also start classified ad and forum posting.
you need relevant content on your website to get high rankings. use your keywords in your content that will help you.
Use google advanced search tool to find relevant blogs to your site and keepon posting. You will observe ranking jumps up.
as content is king and as your website has no pages where you will put the text to get high rankings.Either you may create a Blog (Updating it regularly) or add some more pages top your main website with huge text.
In my point of view the total no of pages in the site should be equal to the total no of back links. This is very important to get a high rank in search engine result page. So try to update relevant contents to your site and do some back links works to get quality back links from other relevant sites.
@Fonda, Lets think this from the beginning. If you want high rank for a keyword get a lot of authority links for your site. PR is not the point here. Lets get an example to see clearly. The keyword is SEO. If you want to outrank the #1 you have to get as much authority as the first place website have. (sadly you cant really measure authority) For start check out where your competitors have links. Try looking at linkdiagnosis.com. Start getting links form those websites. Build your own directory submission links. As many as possible from the most relevant category. Then start getting links from your competitors websites. Try to trade unique written articles for relevant high authority links. Main site is the best - hard nut but it will be necessary to out rank them without getting a 10.000 directory submission. Do not forget to write a lot of content and link them to is article directories. You will need a lot of content here continuously... hire an article writer and a link builder if you target a competitive keyword. You wont have the time alone to get there. 1. You will need a lot of links from KW authority sites for your main site 2. You will need many subsites lined from relevant places to get authority for a keyword 3. You will need many content to submit and trade for links If you have a lot of inbound links and content for authority then you will be able to outrank that site. There is no such things as numbers at here. You have to do it fast, continuously and better than your competitors. And you have to do it until yo are #1... Cut the bullcr@p and dont say: you will need main site links only. you will need content content is king - if you link it and user read it and link it. you will need sitemap (this is the most worthless thing you can do with your time) ... etc, etc, bla bla. Start making content and link it... that all Cheers,
looking through SEO point of view a particular website should have couple of pages as text is required for sites ranking. But if still you have a single page website you may update it regularly through blog.It may surely increase your rankings.
