Guys, what's your thought on getting many hops, but only few sales? I think, as long as you have the right traffic and an appropriate product, then everything should be alright... I don't want to blame the economy or Clickbank, but I want to make sure that everything is perfect on my side. Do you think the pre-sell can have much effect on conversions? I mean, if people click-through, get to the merchant's page and DON'T buy...could it be the landing page's fault?
Maybe, then again it might be th demand on the product, time of the season, economy....... I'd try finding other niches that sell well.
bl4ckmaN, Definitely getting them off your page to the product page can be considered a success, as long as the main lander meets the customer's expectations. Have you tried any experiments with list building? I know it seems counter-productive, but with so much traffic slipping through your fingers perhaps you can gain some long term leads out of it.
I think the two most common things here are the lander and the sales page. A lot of landing pages provide information that is not in touch with the actual product, affiliates that have never seen the product maybe? Also I think that there are a lot of poor sales pages out there. You might presell well which gets you a lot of hops to the sales page but they wont buy because the sales page is no good. One thing to think about though, if the traffic is already on your landing page isn't it better to get them all to the sales page even if they don't convert as opposed to them not even visiting the sales page, which means that they will for sure not convert.
Thers no straight answer to your "queries". If people click-through can mean that you convinced them, but it can also mean various other things such as that you maked them curious about the product with no intention to buy it for example (therefore they click for more info). The only way to know how effective your preselling page is to track the actual sales that were done. Sometimes a preselling page can have a lower click through rate but a high sales rate. So dont bother too much about the click throughs but focus on the number of actual sales. Cheers!
The pre-sell landing page and sales page both affect conversions. It can also be that your visitors are just info seekers / freebie seekers. It's good if you can target your potential buyers at the last stage of their purchase decision phase (i.e. they are not just getting more info about the product but instead they want to buy it now).
I agree with Patchkaa its some what mixture of all above things, Still i believe landing page can make or crack your sale. If product promoted by you have good gravity then there is some thing wrong with your landing page. I had noticed one thing from my experiences, If you are promoting product which has been searched by visitors, like ewen chia products. lots of time people are finding that product for free, until they don't add the word "review" in their search phrase.
Yeah you gotta be careful what you promote, some here are moaning about low sales where in fact the products they sell are infact crap, high competition, or crappy sale pages.
The product, which is involved here is one of the top selling ones on Clickbank. So assume, that there is a demand, and it's huge I've always thought about list building, but never tried it. I think it will work better on a separate squeeze page, where the primary purpose is to gather leads, rather than a pre-sell for a product. I agree that my landing page might be the problem, so I should probably try some direct-linking? Looking at my conversion rate, there is definitely a problem, because 5 sales out of 700+ hops doesn't sound good. I'm sure about the traffic, and the product page....I'm thinking it could be my lander's fault. I'm quite confident about my traffic, and I don't think it's the problem, because the keywords, which I'm targeting are the ones, which are directly related to the product.
Low hop to sale ratio could be - The sales page is crap - The sales page has differences to your landing page (perhaps you bigged up a product too much or the price was different). - CB has payment problems - They are merely browsing, don't have a totally solid intention of buying
There are loads of factors effecting sales. Your traffic sources are a big one. Some sources convert like crazy others jsut dont. Different keywords your traffic is coming from will have different results too. So no its not unusual but I would recommend you experiment with slight changes to ur page and seeing what makes more sales. trial and error is the only way to get the answers to your questions.
Alright, thanks everyone for your advice. I will do 2 things: 1. Try some direct linking 2. Then try another landing page Cheers
