Lots of click and no sales?

    Hello,

I have made this site (mercedesonsale.com) about one week ago.
Since than I had 736 clicks and one sale of 11.37 €
Is this normal or should I be doing a lot more sales? I know I'm
selling cars, but than again, every minute 16 cars are sold on eBay.

    Thank you,
    Ralph Nunes

    Ralph,

get a simple analytics package and track your traffic. Look to see what happens between the initial click and when the visitor exits your site.

Could you please explain that a little better? Some example of an analytics package maybe?

    Thank you,

Sign Up For Google Analytics for example. It's free and provides all the statistics you'll ever need.

Here is the link: http: //www.google.com/analytics/

They will guide you trough the set up process. If you need additional information on the service - google it.

    Mind the space :)

    Hi again,

I told you that I had 736 clicks and one sale of 11.37€.
Well, the only possible way to exit my site via a click
is to go to eBay Motors. I only have links to Mercedes
    auctions on my site.

I have a good statistics software installed on my site,
that's not the problem, the problem is that I had 736
clicks on my Mercedes auctions and 1 sale of 11.37€.

Isn't this strange? Have anyone here sold a car or
something valuable at eBay? Or is this a SCAM?

    All the best!

IMO, when someone has decided to buy a car through eBay, they will go to eBay.com or eBayMotors.com. I am speaking from experience here, as I've bought not 1, not 2 but 3 cars via eBay Motors since 2003.

I'm willing to bet that your problem is with targeted traffic. Where's your traffic coming from?

Do you have AdWords & Overture campaigns running, targeting phrases like:

    2007 ebay mercedes benz
    2006 ebay mercedes benz
    mercedes benz on ebay
    ebay mercedes
    mercedes ebay motor
    mercedes ebay motors
    mercedes ebaymotors
    mercedes diesel on ebay
    etc?

You cannot use the therm eBay when promoting your site if you're an eBay affiliate.

    Right, forgot about that.

How about targeting the phrases above, but replace "eBay" with "auction" That could work...
