Lots of Blogs to make money

    Hi All,

When thinking about making money bloging, and using say adsense as the main source of income from the site initally, do people here think its better to have one site or lots of sites making a little big of money.

I found a thread somewhere may have been here or somewhere else. That talks about how its best/easier to have lots of sites earning $1 a day than one site making loads. Does the same apply to blogging?

Is it better to have one blog or lots of blogs?

And if lots of blogs, and with the concept of updating them at least once per day, how many blogs and how much time would you need to create an income worth mentioning, without going crazy and trying to earn thousands?

Hmm seems to be that less is the way to go, I suppose in less of course you can make sites that auto-update.

I think like you to focus on a few sites, and see what happens. I think it would be hard to get good money from a blog, but then others do I suppose so why not me? hmmm

Hi version2, the renter doesn't get a hyperlink, not my choice, but how the forum is, its usually for exposure.

I noticed a lot of people on here sell signature links etc, I can't believe that people pay for these, but I suppose it helps them in the SE.

I currently run 3 blogs and it's already a lot of work for me. I don't see how anyone can manage 10-20 blogs simultaneously. For me, it's much better to run a few high quality blogs than 50 crappy ones.

I hope you don't mean "Auto updating" the blog? IMO that is not the way to start out, especially on your first blog.
If you don't have the time to write original content, then how will you find the time for marketing and SEO ?

Blogs that make the most money are those that are personally created, updated and designed with lots of original and engaging content, not the ones that just regurgitate other content from around the web.

If all you want to do is pick a high paying keyword , throw a feed on it of other peoples content, and plop down some adsense, you will not have a very popular blog with steady readership, nor will you be able to capitalize on the maximum amount of money.

That process is very old, and tired. Any chimpanzee can do it.

My blogs are very new -- a little over a month old. But because I've spent so much time on them, traffic is starting to pick up. (We try to write a new post everday). For one of my blogs, I now get about 200-300 visitors a day and climbing.

Not that I planned to or plan to do this but is putting a feed on a blog not a good idea? I mainly work on my elottery blog and thats always got unqiue content on it. My income blog, I am stugling to fill at the moment, although I intend to change that soon.

However is it not good for a site to have a feed of other people's stuff on it, in terms of search engines liking it???

    Less is certainly more.

People who run lots of blogs tend to have help (Jim Karter has about 200 but he employs people to run them for him).

I'd suggest just starting with one and once that get up and running then maybe set up a second blog.
