I noticed today that a site of mine has slipped a bit for a few targeted search terms. I didn't see mention of a weather report in their blog. Has anyone else seen some shifts in their rankings?
Actually, I noticed that most of my rankings have stabilized over the last few days (lost a few positions on my best term). -Ramprof
Its nearly a month since the last update and they update after every 32+ days usually, I hope for the update as I was working alot on my website lately
And thats appox. 30 days from now. And the whether report is usually posted when the update is complete or going to end And I say we should get to work on our sites as time is near and I don't want to see any drops in my websites.
I am seeing a pattern - I look in my logs and if I see a hit from yahoo search if i click on it my page is not in the listings - usually for a term that i have not had hits on before - this usually happens when yahoo is updating
One of my sites got a small bump from #3 to #2 for my most important phrase. I see no change for the others. /tom/
Traffic to rose sharply for the past 2 weeks then dropped by 75% yesterday for a site that Yahoo has loved for awhile and has been making me decent cash. Bummer I have been doing some seo work on the site and thought the rise in traffic was due to my efforts....we'll see how this plays out.
My traffic for the site that dropped is returning today (ranks well for many terms). I have another site that I rank for one competitive term on the first page that showed no fluctuation. Maybe they are tweaking filters?
I was in the Yahoo-YoYo in March to May so I know what you mean... but this thread is a good thing to consider : http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=78256 Thinking back, I noticed since I stopped recip linking for the sake of recip -linking, my position has stabilized and is slowly moving up at the rate of 1 place every 4-5 days (fingers crossed). As for the absence of any weather report, I'm sure Y! DOES have someone visiting the forums to see the reaction after each update. Their last couple of updates have been far from perfect... so me thinks : they have toned down their "new indexing technologies" are working like mad to see what screwed up in the last updates before the roll out another fiasco... they're updating without weather reports to avoid getting a bashing in the forums... just my 2 cents...
