Hi, my site has lost its ranking for the last couple of days now, can you please state what are the possible reasons? and if it's alright, please give some suggestion on how to get back there. I know a lot of other sites are experiencing the same, so this is for them too. Thank you in advance for any replies.

I'm kinda wondering same... I was ranking #4 for certain keyword, I was receiving considerable traffic and suddenly two days ago I dropped from first page #4 to third page! Will that improve?

Did you stop working at it once you got #4? Just keep doing what you were doing before. Look at what the #4 is doing now. What have you changed? all that.

You need to get links, keep updating the site with quality content and target the long tail. Targeting the long tail will make sure that even if you loose ground on one phrase, the amount of total visitors won't plummet as fast. In general: more competition means: it's harder to stay in the top 10.

instead of targeting 'cookies' target 'chocolate chip cookies', 'making chocolate cookies', 'baking cookies' etc. That's the long tail: a lot of phrases, with very few visitors each: but together they make up the majority of all search queries.

sometimes a sudden drop is temporary. Wait before doing anything drastic
