Lost ranking after an url change

I upgraded by old phpbb bulletin to vbulletin and my urls changed.

One of my threads was receiving a large amount of traffic because of it's high placement in google. After the move this placement has disappeared.

Before the move I 301'd the thread to the new one (same exact content). Is there anything else I can do? The thread had no links to it that I knew of.

It is going to take some time for google to pickup the 301 redirect (the amount of time depends on the crawl rate and site importance in google's eyes). There isn't anything else you can do but wait and your rankings should return in time.

In my very limited experience, if you have the same meta tags, page titles etc, it should bounce back rather quick.

Google takes a little time to pick up 301 redirects. Wait, and try to build some links to it in the meantime.

Wait a couple of weeks for Google to reindex your new site and you should see rankings coming back.

    cool ... thanks guys.

I have a feeling the meta tags have changed because of the change in forum software. I guess I'll just wait and see.
