The traffic to my website has been down more than 80% from 6th of August till now and still has no sign of coming back. At first, some people say 'you are facing a google dance, dont worry,i'll gonna be stop in a week' but as i said, it isn't stop yet. My site's age is about 3yrs and has a PR of 4. Furthermore, i noticed that Back links to my site according to Google is Zero now instead of some thousands like it was before. Does it mean my site is facing a penalty or something like that? How can i improve this situation? Please help, i'm in urgent need. Thanks so much.
It sounds like you are facing some kind of issue, but without a full investigation into the situation it's impossible to say if it's an algorithmic loss of rankings, a manual penalty, a site code/structure issue, etc.
Its sound like a penality, have you done some blackhate methodes? because if is the case, you have to do all the work from zero. You haveto remember what you have done the 3 months befor you has this probleme.
Definitely sounds like you are facing a penalty. Set up Google Webmaster Tools if you haven't done so already and use their disasvow tool to get rid of any "bad-quality" backlinks that are pointing to your website. It'll take some time to clean up, but with time and effort, your website can return also the traffic it has lost.
Well, i only changed the template of my website in May 2013, is that a problem for a penalty? Well, I'm trying to disavow some links but how to know which links are bad-quality or not?
No doubt, there has been an algorithm update, around the same dates, you are mentioning here, where many developers had a great loss to their traffic and so as to their earnings. We also had a great loss of traffic from 25k to just 2k And why it happened, the fact lies on the type of website you are dealing with. may I know your website? is it based on technology, entertainment or what else? Also tell us the domain name you're using. Yes it can be a reason of penalty, but as you're saying that PR is 4 then it might be due to algorithm update. 3 years of work is a big thing! Set up Google Webmaster Tools OR also you can send a query to Google Webmasters (through their forums or a manual e-mail). PR 4 and a good traffic is really hard to get. You should investigate it fast asap!
Also, A friend of mine, who is quite a good analyzer, suggested me, that google algorithm update is affecting .in domains (Indian Markets). I suffered a lot from this and had a great loss. Our website was also went down on the same dates, you mentioned. But don't delete your website ever. Send queries to Google webmasters, they will definitely help you out from this problem. Be in touch with them and try to follow their instructions.
Dear Pihu009, Hope that things you are saying is right be cause i'm so worry about receiving a google penalty. anw, My website is ebooktienganh.com, we provide free ebooks to learn english for people in my country. I've installed Google webmaster since the early days of my site but i received no alerts mentioning about this loss in the traffic, i also ask the support last week but they haven't response yet. Can you help me with this? thank you so much.
Did you lose your SERP's? This could be a reason for such a traffic drop. Are you sure your website was not blacklisted by Google?
