Hello, after redesigning my site www.beearcade.net i lost my search engine ranking so i just want to know is it normal or i need to worry about it and work hard again to get it back.
It happens from time to time especially if it was a big change. Normally you should get your SERP back in a few days / weeks. Just give it some time...
yeah it is a big change, ive changed everything from top to bottom. so hopefully will get back soon on the track thanks.
Have you changed the URL structure? If so be sure to 301 redirect the old pages to the new locations.
I believe if its not back in 2-3 weeks then you messed up with something. That happens when Google finds too many dead links.. The correct way shud hav been that you did a permanent redirect..But as common..most webmasters fear due to volume of links... Trust big G for now Ok ! if url struct was not changed then its not a major worry..Go n tk a good sleep !!
Not the domain URL, the structure of the site: eg. http://mysite.com/oldpage.html becomes http://mysite.com/subdirectory/new-page Or are all the URLs the same?
i dont change anything like that just using the new template which is totaly different from the old one and also some urls but still the old one and the new one show the same page so no 404 issue.
If you have duplicate content, I think it can hurt your rankings. use 301 redirects on the old pages. I also think text headers are best to use for SEO.
Did your content change during the redesign? That may have changed your ranking as well. Also I don't believe that having duplicate content affects your ranking much.
Just make your on-page work powerful and start work for Off-page optimization.. you will get your ranking very soon... And ya.. you have really wonderful site.. but SEO guru's don't recommend to use flash...
did you use re-directs on your page's? i guess not. so what is happening is the search engines think you have dead pages
