    Hey

I am not sure if this is the right section for this. If not, the mod may shift it to the right place. Thanks

Well, I started a site www.kick-fat.com a few months ago. Bought some cheap hosting from a reseller, installed wordpress, added a few articles and forgot about it.

Now, it has gained PR and i want to develop it further. But i have forgotten my password for the hosting and cant able to remember it( it iz a combination of a non dictionary word and a number and a symbol) so there is no way i can crack it either.

I do remember the wordpress password i had installed on the host.
So now i can add new pages, posts, edit them but have no access to the host.
All attempts to retrieve the pwd from the host have been in vain as they never respond.

I am kind of newbie in all this.
so pls suggest me the best way out to shift to a new host and suggest me a host which will make this all much simpler .

Any help will be REPreciated ;)

If they're using something like WHMCS, use the "Password reminder" function, or you can find out who they're reselling from and contact them instead.

    Good luck

Do you try to contact your hosting seller upstream, they can help you recover your password.
That why i don't recommend to buy hosting from reseller

how many domains you have in that hosting ?

if you have only wordpress and want to switch just backup the xml file ( in wp admin panel ) that is sufficient :)

u can install the blog in other hosting within minutes ;) good luck

How did you actually recover the password ? Did the host get in touch with you or did you in some way in touch with the root provider?

Well you can check your hosts domain whois record and can call him up. I think WP supports backup/restore like other php appz support. However take host from good reliable hosts always who r in hosting business for a long time.

    Bye
