Lost all my coop links in google

The serps are still good, but I'm disapointed to see my IBL's drop back to pre-coop levels. Looks like the new algo may be filtering out the coop or G is just screwing with us. Won't know for sure for a few weeks to see how things pan out. Of course, we don't know for sure that the links have been filtered out. All I know is that they no longer appear in the kw tracker. Not a big deal, I was just getting used to seeing the high number of links and was liking it.

I'm pretty sure it's BL Update Flux (BLUFf)
I saw mine go back to pre coop as well (only joined a week ago) but 24hrs later went back.

During BLUFF we probably need some more patience than usual.

    Something has definitely gone south.

I dont think it has anyting to do with the ads.

All of my sites fell out of the google serps on Friday

And I just joined the coop.

    Its google again.

All of my sites dropped quite a bit as well... I'm hoping it's not the co-op...

well as I said on another thread - I am #1 (as far as *I* can see on google) for a really really competitive term - I have had NO traffic today from g - MSN/Y OK so I know it's not becuase no-one is searching...

all of the words I hit in the COOP are top 5 now, except 1 which is 15 (4 for all in anchor). The other day, when google updated BL's all of mine went up (one to 4900), but today one site was down to 3210 (where it was last update), but the others stayed the same. Kinda odd. I'm still hoping for a PR update sometime soon, just to see my green bar change LOL.

My speculation is that G may have its own 'money keywords' list. So, highly competitive kw may have heavier flux change. I can't be sure about it but I do not lose my coop BLs for less competitive kws (less than 1 million competing pages).

    Is that the explanation? Anyone?

OR, G is going for topical link relevancy now

OR, it's due to the age of link

I'm thinking maybe link age is becoming more important... and since these links are static, they may never come of age... or another idea that a friend of mine came up with is sort of a "reverse sandbox" effect, where we're getting too many links with the same anchor text, and, once you get so many links with the exact same anchor text, they may not count or something... I dunno.

Several of my keywords and sites have also taken a hit?!

It's possible for to Google see the Co-Op as a "link farm" and we're being penalized for it? If you think about it, Google can easily classified the co-op as another form of "link farm"?

Would it be possible for Google to identify the co-op ads (links) by scanning our sites for the same ad_network PHP code that we all have? I am not a programmer, so I don’t know?

I am actually a bit concerned that our sites may eventually be banned because of the co-op...

    Any thoughts?

It would be easy for google... links are all stored in the "ad_network_ads.txt" file... I'm not trying to say the network is bad... but I want to be careful as well... they could do it if they wanted... but is it really that much different than showing banner ads on your site?

I think when the co-op was small, Google probably didn't care or maybe not aware of the co-op.. Now the co-op has become so large and such a "force" to "artificially" control SERP, Google's probably paying real close attention to the co-op now?

I know if I was Google, I would...

Perhaps Shawn can rewrite the script a bit to randomize the ad_network_ads.txt filename.... just for prevention.

Or, we can actually rename this file?

    Shawn ? Help?

they wouldn't ban a file name because it would be a) too easy to change, b) other sites might have the exact same file for a totally different project.

Hmm.. my coop weight dropped significantly.. my backlinks dropped a bit, came back, disappeared.. the coop appeared to get me a higher ranking for my fav keyword then it went up a lil more during all this weird google movement im seeing.. im not sure what to think :p but even when my site went up, i wasnt expecting it to stay. i have seen it all and have learned to expect the worst when it comes to google hehe

--- i think the most annoying thing is, i worked HARD on backlinks and got some good ones on higher PR pages on good sites and haven't seen any change for my backlink number. Talk about very disappointing. I am sure that google isn't showing them just to play with my mind like it usually does but i really don't appreciate seeing no results for all my hard work :(

Could be the PR that comes from the link ???

Most member sites are PR0. If this's the problem, gotta supplement the discrepency with reciprocal link partners.

Any concrete reason for the drop in BL? or we're just overreacting...

its flux in the DC (API) that the co-op is pulling from, thats all.
