I have a personal paypal account and whenever someone transfers money to it, I don't get the full amount,it says received 10$ but some of it is taken away as some fee, what to do? am I using the right kind of account,Is there anyway to avoid this service fee? [I mostly receive money,I don't send most of the time].
As he said if people pay via a gift it doesnt take money but still froma business view your always going to loose on transactions
you should expect some fee when you do business. you better upgrade to premier or business account if you want to do business with your paypal account. because too many transaction especially through cc, paypal will block your account and ask you to upgrade.
The only way to avoid any fees is to have someone use their PayPal balance to send you a "Gift" in the same currency you are using. There is a fee for credit card payments and there is a fee for currency conversion. Note that if PayPal thinks that you are trying to cheat them, they can limit your account. If you are running a legitimate business, you need to just factor in the fees as one of your costs. Here is the overview of their fee structure: https://www.paypal.com/in/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_display-fees-outside
I have seen gifts being charged a very low fee, even though the sending party has already paid the fees. The other day i received a payment of around $170 as gift and they charged me $0.81 as fees, and the sender has already paid a few dollars as fees. This is presume is the cross border payment charges which applies even to gift payments, but i havent seen that happening for the mass payments i used to receive from the pepperjam network.
FYI,paypal already change their fee structure. All the payment sent as 'payment' will be charge the fee. If you want to receive no fee,ask the buyer to sent it as 'personal' payment.
