have hosted all of my 24 sites/domains on bluehost. I have been trying to make payment to renew my account there for quite some time. The message I used to get was "Not Allowed".

After contacting them the message for more than one credit cards I get is "invalid account number", when I contact banks, they tell me the message is still "not allowed", and the hosting account is showing me "invalid account number". I have contacted bluehost time and again and their support SUCK!

Heard a lot about these forums but finally joined it to get a solution to this problem. Hope someone can help?

Start backing up your sites so you can move to a new host. By the sounds of things this is what is going to be needed.

That is the last thing I want rite now, with the busiest schedule. But you seem very right, looks like I'll have to do that.

Plan for the worst. If it works out that you get this sorted with Bluehost then all that's happened is you've backed up your sites. If you don't then you'll have a devil of a job sorting it out. :)

I still don't understand what the problem with Bluehost is. Do you mean your Bluehost account is showing "invalid account number" or your bank is showing "invalid account number"?

As the other poster said make sure your backups are up to date.

As bluehost use cPanel it should be fairly trivial for you to move to a different host that uses cPanel and have the new host pull your sites over for you, that way other than changing nameservers you shouldn't have too spend too much time on it.

I'd get on the phone with bluehost though and see if you can't get it sorted out with them.

I recommend you contact their sales department. Who knows perhaps your account was suspensed for some reason.

It's probably something with your credit card. Your payment may have been declined. Did you try using a different card?

This is definitely something you should contact their billing or sales department about. They have a contact number. Just try to get a supervisor or manager on the line. Insist on it.
