So i came up with this theory, that if you think about certain things enough, you can actually lose weight. you know how certain emotions, for example love, can cause the heart to beat faster? well i was sitting at home one day thinking about stuff (I won't say what) and all of a sudden my heart started to beat more rapidly. this led to me thinking that maybe its possible that you can lose weight just by thinking. since thats exactly what happens when you exercise, right? your heartrate rises. or do other factors play a part, like respiration and muscular contraction? what if you combine thinking with heavy breathing? If physical exertion can be substituted for a more simple task such as thinking, then I think i'd like to know! My theory isnt total bullsh*t is it?? (please be aware that I am in no way an expert in this field)
I don't agree, you can make your heart beat faster just by drinking a cup of coffee and that won't make you lose weight. You have to exercise if you want to shed the pounds.
there was also a study that showed that athletes that thoguht that they could shoot better baskets, actually did almost as well as those that practiced shooting hoops.
