I need advice .... Let's say we have the page with 20 outbound links: 1) 10 links to important pages within the site 2) 10 links to content not indexed by Google (www.site_name.com/download/file.zip, rar, avi) disallowed in robots.txt by string "Dissallow: /download/" What we should do for passing PageRank from page to page without loosing it. Site have PR6 home page and PR4 for pages that have link from home page!!! Will <a href="http://www.site_name.com/" OnClick="window.open('http://www.site_name.com/download/file.zip', '', 'scrollbars=1,menubar=1,resizable=1,width=800,height=600'); return false;"> help to save PR? Or Google don't count links to disallow area for links? Best regards,
Google PR algorithm is based on the Relevancy calculation. The more pages or websites gives you vote the greater the chances of your website is to increased PR. And thus increased in Serp's . You make a strong link building strategy and increase your relevancy in your related niche ! The greater the supporter of your the more you will be succeed ! Regards
The problem I have is that there are no good forums or blogs for my niche. It's kind of annoying so I ended up making my own forum. Now I'm going to have to promote that and get other people in the industry over to my forum. A lot of my link building has not been from relevant sites because of that problem. Bummer.
I've seen many studies that show relevency doesn't exist. Do you really think a link from CNN to my wine site wouldn't be valuable because CNN is a news site which falls outside my niche? Yes, your interior pages are going to pass some PR back and forth. Clearly, your best bet is to build PR on some of your interior pages and make sure the site is large enough that interior pages are actually helping your home page and other money pages.
I agree, my site is a PR5, adn has been for years, but my traffic has doubled from last year, im building links everyday, and PR has not budged from 5 in 2 years. Either way I'll take quality traffic over PR any day of the week. Sick
