-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Frustrated and p..... off. Since the beginning of N0v 07 one of my sites has been loosing ground in Google search, lost another spot last night and don't really understand why. Probably there's more than one reason and maybe if I had some opinions I could narrow down the problem. I've been working on the links, have senbt out probably 1000 emails to relecant site requesting recip links, done some work on the site itself and on the title/desc/keywords/ Anyeay...can I get some opinions here please. Search term...pedal car my site http://www.pedalcarplus.com
I tell you, if you want good links then use link exchanges. You can regain your place. Only link building is the most effective method to get back. You may be not working with it much and other sites are working. So you lost your spot. Every month try sparing 5 to 6 days on link building. Not only on the home page. Also on subpages too
I'd say you can make some improvement to your on-page optimization. First off, decide which page will be competing for the keyword 'pedal car'. If it is your homepage, make every link on the site pointing to the home page use the text 'pedal car'. Furthermore, the homepage uses the keyword too frequently - it looks spammy. Use your keyword once or twice per paragraph. And make use of heading tags. At the very least, include an h1 tag on the page that includes your keyword. Beyond that, you need to get more links. And dont waste all your time on recip links. They are mostly worthless, spread your efforts around. Do some directory submissions, article distribution, recip links, write some press releases, etc. Good luck.
Tahnks very much for the advice. Regarding links on my other pages, you mean to use the text linkw "pedal car home"? I had heading tags and had to take them out because for some reason they were messing up my font sizes, I think because of CSS. Will try again. Links. If I remember right, a few years ago the site was totally removed from Google because I had gone to a webring. Is that still a nono for Google?
Could be that other sites are gaining ground, or you need more links to keep up with the competition.
