I'm noticeing a strange event for a client site that sell hardware, all his indexed pages on google are being deleted from the Google database, and I do not know why and teh causes. I must say that the site is tha same from time (some month) and during this period the indexing was very good and the pages indexed grow a lot. But suddenly this client noted that google deleted all his indexed pages, and if I made a search for taht domain (without anything) Google give me only a list of pages without any description, and conseguentially when people make searches do not found the site. Anyone with some ideas? Or anyone has noted the same strange even on other sites?
Actually I have noticed the same thing. Recently Google finally found my sites forum and the number of pages indexed was growing hugely for a week and a half. Then it paused for a day and started deindexing all the pages it just added from the same forum. I was worried when I first saw that, but no information had been changed and all info was orginal. My suggestion is wait a week or so, our has finally stabalized and starting to grow again. Google is re-indexing thoes pages again. So I think its a google thing, like always they are unstable, just give it time. Dont start worrying till google results stay solid for a couple of weeks.
I would prefer to actually figure out what is causing it (since a site hasn't been provided) rather then just ignore it. I recently had a site that had this same thing happening due to the descriptions being the same and after fixing it 10,000 pages got indexed within 3 days. Its worth exploring it to see if its one of the common reasons.
Description is a possiblity. The description on my forum would be the same on all the pages, and I think that is the only thing they would all share (title and content were diffrent). However some pages were never deindexed. I thought it was something like a roll back of google data, which I have seen to often in their updates.
I don't post much here but read boards every day. I am stumped. I have a website that has 50% of the pages dropped out of the index. This happened on or about 15 June. This site has been up since 1998. It was getting about 200 unique a day, now down to 75. This is the same site that has done well since 1999 and the site has been unchanged except for adding or deleting product. Before Bourbon Google was indexing my home sorta weird first it would be normal url www mydomain com then it would change to mydomain com but all this stopped before the update. I emailed Google but got the normal canned response. When I check my pages with Google toolbar it shows the pages not indexed BUT when I do site:mydomain it shows the pages as indexed so I'm really stumped. Any suggestions or ideas would be greatly appreciated. The url is www cobalthaven com Cobaltlady
The site that is loosing indexes is a dinamic site, with a list of product, with price and so on. While I was checking al pages generated I noticed a thing, the title of the page is the same on the price-list, maybe it could be this the problem, so I'm working on change it to reflect the products that the page contains. Another thing is that on the same page (this is a case of about 20 pages) the number of link are very elevated (more that 100) and I've read that G do not like pages with lot of link on them, is this true?
