:confused:I don't know where else to put this, and maybe it's just me being overaggressive..but damn I hate the use of the word "Dear" on this forum.

In person it's slightly annoying, but not that big of a deal..on DP though, everytime I PM with someone, all I get is "hello dear".."please send me this dear"..WTH?!

I'm only one person's "dear", and she's not on DP so there should be nobody else using that term..it's almost as annoying as "sweety" or "buddy"..

Anyone else get rubbed the wrong way (no pun intended..eh) by this?

BTW: The title is split up into Use-age to rhyme with Loose..yeah, I'm bored, sue me :p

Yeah I get that a lot as well and find it unprofessional. But it also gives me a clue that they're not English or American so I won't hire them to write :p. It's a very strange practise. One other thing which annoys me is Dear Sir, because I'm not a guy but ah well to that, presumptions :|.

Agreed..^ Unprofessional is the perfect word to describe it..and the thing is, I'd probably assume you were a guy also because the majority of users (something like 87% last time I saw that topic) are male, but you could never generalize in a business..which is what DP is.

It tells you more about the person who is using "dear" than you! So leave it with the other person ... and look beyond. Why let your day be upset for one minute by something like that? It's too precious, isn't it?
I applied this to ads in public. They annoy me when I look at them. But now I look beyond them and see the flowers, blossoms, green trees, houses etc and feel 100% better! :)
I found it to be a matter of focus. I do no longer want to waste time with such things.

Yeah, some people have that habits. But, almost all people that I worked with don't use that word but only few do. It is not really a big problem..
