dp has changed new face in few days ago, but new rules too then, i just realized that i am really suck to have 0 like to be a 3 years old registed member.
It could be worse, there is a member who was complaining about DP's new changes. He had (he claimed) been on here for 10 years yet had 0 likes. On the flip side is this new member who joined just recently. He managed to get 6 likes today with just 1 post!
digital point wants its members to give contribution to this forum and the other members here.. when I became more active, I've just realized this is a great forum with lots of great threads and cool members..
I like the new look and yea the new rule has bought me back to this section. It's DP's way of telling me, you've been a naughty boy
so what was wrong with my last post then?? it was a friendly response to snakeairs comments..what kind of a "big deal" are you exactly???
It all comes down to value. There are people here, who are not bringing value to the DP community. All they do is promote their services first trying without giving value to us. That's why the staff decided to change the rules of the game here.
The new rules have made members realize that they need to "give" and not just "take". The effort should be to get noticed because of the content in your post and not because of your signature. But the changes will take time to settle in. Even after the changes you have the one-liner posters typing away to get their wares noticed, while offering zero value in their posts. You may not see the infamous "thanks for sharing" but it's just a shade less worse. The likes should be related to the number of posts e.g. you must have one like for every 200 posts or something like that.
I like the idea but they should enforce people to use the like feature somehow... Or at least notify a little, but the idea behind it is great!
Agreed with the above post. Would be very cool if the Like system brought a specific amount of publicity to that persons profile around the community here. This would be a HUGE benefit for everyone.
I love the new idea. It won't solve people posting in broken english about how they got rich quick with this new ebook we should download, but it keeps the spammers out of the area's that should only be used by members who contribute to the site. A few thoughts about previous comments: ThePiixelMonster, I agree with the concept of making the like button bigger and more noticeable. At least a little graphic to make it stand out so people remember to like it. It would also be cool if the posts were like YouTube comments and the most likes was displayed near the top of the thread. Or some way readers could identify the best post in the thread. WeRnlS, the point is to reward quality. A member who has been here 6 years isn't always going to post quality stuff. Post count and length of membership doesn't reflect quality.
Do your best to get it, I just get 1 like .. Nice .. I hope there are always giving like for me that more than 3 likes.. Good Luck
