The update to the third datacentre (66.102.9.99) just came online for ONE OF MY SITES in the last 5 mins.
all my site's page have a pr 4or 5 now, (main site's page is still pr5 ), it is also visable in the google toolbar on the normal google.com
one of my sites went from 40 BLs to 200 BLs, but the PR went from 5 to 4. :/ err or so it seems with these tools.
Let me know when the toolbar shows the new PR... No use in getting exited until I know I have a real PR
Yeah same for me, does anyone know how long these updates usually take. Ahhh I am now showing 5 on 4 DataCenters
I've noticed something strange all day long when checking datacenters. Every datacenter that is reporting additional links is also reporting a lower PR value??? For instance www.yourfriendlypharmacy.com has been reporting 2990 links and PR6 for several months. On four datacenters it now shows 3220 links and PR5. This doesn't make much sense. But remember Google is perfucked. Minstrel and Shawn say so. No! No! They say it is perfect. It is McDar and I who think a better term than "broken" is "perfucked".
i get a ten whenever i visit/refresh yahoo. the page i mentioned earlier (as well as the little giant ladder link in my sig) all show pr now when i check those pages, and they were white-barred before.
PR is a dynamic element. As more and more sites go online and as more and more existing sites obtain backlinks, the baseline for each PR level also has to change with each update. In other words, the critieria for getting a PR5 on a current update might be close to the same criteria that would get a PR6 during the last obdate. If it didn't, then everyone would eventually get to a PR10.
I'm in Florida. I'm kinda miffed about the update. I expected home page PR on all my sites to hit a 6 at least this time, but they all stayed at 5. Getting over that PR5 hump has been tough! Lot harder than a few years ago. Quick check says pages as new as a week old are getting some PR. http://www.onlinediscountmart.com/chriinbu.html was added end of last week.
Maybe you misunderstood me. I never said that PR is worthless. All I said was that the "toolbar" PR update won't affect SERPs, as this is not the same as the PR being used to calculate rankings.
Bob, the BLs being shown by Google might be changing but this doesnt mean that the actual BLs are being updated. In fact, we don't know for sure if BLs are only updated once in a while or on a regular basis. From a programming point of view, don't you think it would be easier to update BLs as sites are being spidered?? So, even if Google starts showing different BLs for a site today, it doesn't neccesarily mean that the BLs today in the actual database are any different than they were yesterday.
Yahoo is showing a PR10 on my toolbar. So now that PR is updated on the toolbar, any idea on when weight increases will be seen in the coop?
That doesn't address compar's point though. Even in the context of your argument, why would sites showing an increase in reported backlinks be showing a decrease in PR?
It's 8:45am here and I thought I was still dreaming so I double-checked. very nice, at least google updates again... even if they still aint showing enough links but at least the PR is there now
