Well, Yahoo is maintaining. Google is flourishing. MSN has removed all of our pages except for the index page. For about the last week I have been seeing a flux within MSN.... we went from tons of keywords to a few keywords to nothing for a couple of days to a couple of keywords and now nothing for the weekend. Boy am I glad that weight isn't based on MSN. I am not sure at this point in time however it could be the fact that we gained 5000 backlinks within 15-18 days..... lol
Actually it's quite opposite for our site. We are #1 on almost all of our main keywords, but Ok on Yahoo and nowhere to be found on google.. We have co-op for 2-3 months already..
I am not really sure what is going on.... I am sure all of our pages will come back in time though..... We have only been in active for about 3 weeks now. I figured we got picked up on filter for too many links to quickly. How many backlinks did you guys get within you first couple of weeks?
I never really thought about too many links (advertising during the superbowl might get you even more) so I just threw 12k of weight on a new website. fact is: in Google its top5 on all keywords I was aiming for within 3 weeks. I dont know why SE should have filters for it, they always talk about link exchanges in their guides "how to get ranked in SE" they advise me to get link exchanges. I just follow their advise, and get a few link exchanges to make my site easier to find and crawled... its not like I rank high for non-relevant keywords or something, its not like I spam their results, I just rank high for keywords I aim for, so nothing bad I guess.
Highest amount of links I've seen in a short period of time (less than a week) is 11,000+. I'm currently at around 6,000.
This past few weeks Ive seen MSN rankings fluctuating quite alot, but I think it's finally starting to stabilise.
it was fluctuating a lot for me to but only within the Top 10, i.e. I've been going between 3 and 8 up and down on two positions (since I have several websites about the same topic)
I seem to have lost positions on MSN over the last few days after having several top 10 positions, I've not really had a chance to look into why this might be yet.
One of our site's home page which was #1 for its primary phrase, Mobile Homes, has dropped off the charts. When I search a secondary phrase, Arizona Manufactured Housing, the page in question shows up as #1 and #2 but the first listing only shows the URL. Maybe MSN does have some type of filter. Hmmm...
my superhuge site fretburners.com with boat loads on content is still #5 for a 1 word term. LOL http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?FORM=MSNH&srch_type=0&q=guitars and just to think ... it's just a "coming soon" page because i haven't had time to work on it.
Hi, I posted in the Yahoo forum under the UH-OH thread.. I've been through the ringer this last month with the Google search engine. When I saw that I dropped from MSN search results, yet I pay for inclusion in their BCentral.. I wondered what was going on, so I talked with someone at Microsoft. They said that new changes had just been implemented and it will take a little while before things settle, but not to worry.
