Looking to sell products with large profit margins

Im looking for a type of product to sell that is not saturated in the market and is doing ok and can be sold on Half.com and has great margin potential. Once im pointed in a direction hopefully I can do the rest on my own. Books have suggested DVD's, Books or Music, well after doing research I believe this market is saturated this is something id love to do on Half.com. but wondering if money can actually be made and ok profits can be made im looking at this as more as a part time start up for now and later on make it into a full time business. I see all these sellers and their prices are so low how could I even make it into the market? Ive seen a few posts about buying direct from a manufacture and many dropship, this sounds like the best way for me however are dvds purchased direct cheap enough to actually compete out there on Half.com?

    Thanks in advance.

I have a Worldwidebrands.com account and I can say that it is pretty useful. If you are from the US, PM me, I may have some information that is useful to you. If you are outside the US, I can't help you much simply because the dropshippers I have contacts for will not work with people outside of the US in most cases.

So if the product costs you $1,000, you'd be fine with a $1 margin (10th of 1%)?

Think in percents not dollars. :)

Information will give you the largest possible margins usually.

Check some of the automotive vendors in CJ. You can sell specific products in the $300 - $900 range with up to 12% margins.

Personally I would consider 50% large.

ASDA (most of you know it as Wal-Mart) have around 40-60% mark up on ALL their products.

On a business trip, we got a tour of ASDA. We used one of their telxon guns to scan items. It shows stock, and selling price, buying price, and markup and more.

The markups were shocking to me.

You can try us, Custom Dropshipper! Sell on ebay with like 100% profit margin. Prices for items are around $5-20!

For example you can sell a mousepad on ebay for 10 bucks including shipping and it will cost you only 2.99 including shipping.

Who buys mousepads on Ebay or outside of Ebay for $10?

    http://search.ebay.com/search/search.dll?from=R40&_trksid=m37&satitle=mousepad&category0=

I checked there, the ones for $0.99 weren't selling...Good thing I have a laptop. Either way, I think that his site should be worth a try to the OP.

    Wow, mousepads.

I haven't bought one of those since the 90s. I guess I'm the only one using an optical mouse. I could rub it on my ass and the mouse would move just fine. ;)

I'm going to start drop-shipping 8-track cassette tapes next. :D

After reading your opening title I thought... Who doesn't? Large profit margins typically mean larger risk so bear that in mind.

if you just want $1 per item, and you're doing hundreds or thoursands of itmes each month, you are gonna have a bigger problem with all the paperwork you're going to have tax time.

plus you need gas money to run to the post office & supplies
