Looking to make a search engine

I will be starting a search engine within a few months, I need ideas the you guys have wished google always had. I'm gonig to add articles to it and stuff as well as recommended sites per search.

to much competatision on it. Yahoo, MSN, Google have it secured.

 

I'm going into another branch of search engine market, not compiling, etc. I'm in no way trying to kill Google, I'm actually trying to get the most of my traffic from them .

If you are going to add some new sections in your search engine then it ll be good otherwise there are lots of search engine and you will have to face competition. so try to do best as much as you can.

is there a way to link to a specific key word result page with a hyperlink? the result page being a Google adsense for search page?

Yes it would be possible to add links on each result without having to use Adsense .

 

Creating new search engine , i do sometime thinking of it, but to use ready scripts for this job doesnt make sense. it need to invest money and time, and high competitision . But still time to time thinking of it

 

doing a search engine is not a joke. but if that makes you happy will support you. DP brother.

If you need ideas from others it's not a good start in the search engine field especially if you are asking ideas relating to google.
Develop first your ideas, bring your search engine live, ask your users and dp users ideas how improve your idea.
In my opinion it's better not asking the missing features of a competitor but the missing features of owned site.

These are the questions I asked myself. maybe they can help you.

1. What is it about Google that's lacking?
2. Can I fix this problem?
3. Why would people want to search on my site over another?

Same questions for yahoo and so forth.

 

Ya I would totally try a few new things...maybe you could make it geared towards webmasters or something...I know that Google has their webmaster program/analytics and stuff...but maybe you could create like a backlink checker or something...or you could just make that one of your sections...

You could enhance the sports section of google in a hardcore way...You could directly link it to ESPN or something...like sports score updates...

There are a ton of things that you could do to improve google, it just takes lots of time and money which i hope you have if you hope to have any prayer in taking over google.

 

Maybe not ban many webmaster adsense for no reason would be a start.
