What's up guys? I'm new here. So here's the deal. I want to get into web design and development and have already signed up for HTML and CSS classes this month. I'm thinking Javascript and PHP would be the next on my list. I'm pretty sure I'd still want to take hands-on classes with JS and PHP. But I'd like to try learning by myself for now. Someone just referred me to lynda.com. Their annual plans look like a good deal to me. Anyone here have experience with the quality of their video tutorials? Am I taking the right path with learning web development here? HTML, CSS, JS, then PHP? Am I missing anything?
I think you've got a good handle on how to attack the learning. It sounds pretty solid, and while I did it a bit backwards, looking back that is how I would recommend learning. Good job. I've never used any online classes for learning, there are more than enough free resources out there... however getting the organization from a classroom setting might be important to you. Let us know how they are, if they have more advanced stuff, I might sign up to check it out.
