Hey guys.. I'm looking to learn Flash right now, and I need a little help finding some books / materials that will be useful. I have a good understanding of general programming structure, and am very competent with PHP so although actionscript is obviously different, the way I see it is if you understand one programming language, then you'll be able to grasp others. I was bought Adobe Flash CS5 as a gift and I'm serious about learning the ropes. I was wondering which books and resources are the best to go for? I've found the books 'Adobe Flash Professional CS5 Classroom in a Book' for Flash and Actionscript but don't want to buy anything without being advised first. Also, are there any other avenues to go down that are better than a book? I'm happy to work with tutorials but usually they're very limited as to how far they take you, and only really get you used to things like defining variables, functions, handling data in general etc.. I'm looking to go further than that. Any help would be appreciated! Chuckun
So far I have found these two : http://www.amazon.co.uk/Adobe-Flash-Professional-Classroom-Book/dp/0321701801/ http://www.amazon.co.uk/ActionScript-Adobe-Flash-Professional-Classroom/dp/0321704479/ Can anyone recommend or warn against these? Or any other input? Really need help here xD Thanks!
