Hi I have a single page ClickBank product for a mildly/moderately competitive keyword. The domain has been active for a year, but I want the single page to come up first on Google. Consider if I put the keyword in the title, description, and keywords tag and use it in the first paragraph, then add one PR3 link to the site using the keyword from a popular blog I run, and then another 2 PR2 links to the same hop page from two friends of mine who run related sites. Do I have a good chance of the hop page making it as the number 1 result on Google for the keyword?
In order to achieve the first rank you need to identify your competitors and carry out a competitive analysis and a comprehensive keyword research. Only then you will get to know what will it take to be on the first page of Google.
Screw the PR links. Also note that META tags are mostly ignored by the search engines. Focus on your page title, headings, and content. Then find sites that are related to the product you're selling and get them to link to you. (Seriously - don't chase after PR - you'll be far better off with relevant merit-based links.) As for META tags, the one you want to focus on is the description. But don't write it for the search engines. Use it along with your page title to write an accurate, compelling description of the page that will make people want to click the link to see what you have to offer.
to get first page result, u need to optimize keyword as per page with content and need to generate link based on that.
Also I forgot to mention that the current no 1 result on Google doesn't even have the keyword as the title. So I'm hoping that will give me a benefit.
