I am a writer and just started with Twitter. These are my objectives: 1. Build a community/network with people in my field 2. Develop a reader base for my work 3. Obtain useful information and have access to resources that will help me in my work This is what I'm doing: 1. Looking up other writers whose work I admire and responding to their tweets 2. Using hashtags for relevant groups in my Tweets 3. Attempting to tweet a couple of times a day I have nothing to sell, and my "content" is simply my writings, which I can link followers to. Most of the advice about Twitter seems to be for people who have tons of stuff to post/tweet, like advice and tips, or free content. I have no desire to create new content just for Twitter purposes. I am happy to tweet links to things I find interesting. Thoughts/advice? Thanks!
A few writers post reddit-like questions throughout the day: https://www.reddit.com/r/AskReddit/ I follow maybe a hundred or more of them. They get quite a bit of following and feedback to those posts/questions.
I am helping you with Twitter. I said nothing about joining another platform. Let me explain it again. A few writers on Twitter that I follow get their questions from Reddit and post them on Twitter. Those types of questions create a great deal of response and as a result more followers on TWITTER.
