Hello, If you see my signature, and my introduction post (welcome area), it's borderline (forum rules) for me to tell you more here on post because it's talking about my business. I could do it if you PM. Sorry for don't tell you that before. That I can say here, it's just general regarding .re registration, If you use registrar, example OVH France or Gandi, and other...you have to give them : - corporate register number in Reunion Island or - if you are personal you must be located in Reunion and have a French trade Mark and, you must be confirmed with a code text message the registrar send only on a Reunion Island cellular phone. For this reason only a local service supplier can register for you (for you use the domain) ; The local service supplier is the legal owner of the domain (whois data on .re are only possible for owner and technical (registrar), no other data level are possible); With annual fee, local service supplier can usually give you a perpetual licence of use (you sign for it) after he checked there is no infringement regarding trademark and .re naming policy and he asked you a proof of identity and postal address. All this because you are not owner (you cannot be legally owner) ; licensee customer don't have access to WHOIS data modification or domain transfer ; Most of local service suppliers don't authorise transfer of the licence of use, some accept change after checking/approved the new user and ask minimum 10 % of the sale. I found this last solution good for website development if local service (licence of use) fee is reasonable (not 250 usd/year as wrote in the beginning of this post) Other solution is to setup a corporate registration in Reunion with register a French trade mark. Registration as sole trader is next to above cost, but you need to give power to someone for doing that for you in Reunion Island at the prefecture (asking authorisation for foreign (no European) trader that will do business at distance (without being/needing to be in France, and needing get a visa for work) ; First 2 years there are very few tax (maybe 100 Euros, because Reunion is a special VAT, special region in France) after you have to pay for social insurance,...under global sale of goods of 80000 Euros you don't need an accounting system same under 33000 Euros of service, above you need an accounting system. For this option, in fact, administrative costs are more expensive than licence of use because you need also local service for get postal address and someone helping you regarding the French rules... This option could be more interesting if you have very good valued domain name(s) you want to be legal owner, but licence of use (owner of the use) is more simple and less expensive to setup. Regarding performance as developed website, have no idea and enough experience but I will do for good generic hacking .re domains I have, I could tell you after. I hope it's helpful
