Actually, $100 is a very fair price to pay for logo design. Most of the people on this forum wouldn't know that, being extremely unprofessional.

That's why I decline most requests I get. Who in their right mind would design a logo for $15? I've spend years training in design, and most designers get paid well over $50 per hour.

No good designer would work for small cash like $10 for a logo. If you do, you're an idiot.

If you don't believe me, look up a professional web design company.

Sure you might find some companies charging $10 per logo, but those are the people that are ripping themselves off.

    I charge $10, I'm not an idiot.

$100 is ripping other people off
Unless you are extremely top-notch and have about 5 years experience, You're ripping somebody off if you charge that much.

I believe I mentioned "professionals" in my recent post. I do infact have a little bit over 5 years of experience.

Oh and look here: http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=1447166 this thread just popped up.

If you're doing logos for $10, you are wasting your time, you might as well do them for free.

If you aren't a professional, you shouldn't be getting paid in the first place. You need experience first. Charging people money to get yourself some experience is the real rip off.

PROFESSIONAL means you get paid to do the job, It doesn't mean you're good at it.

One more thing, Don't call me an idiot.

I think you need to look it up in the dictionary my friend.

Professional - "A skilled practitioner; an expert." <<A quote from the dictionary.

Being a professional means that you have a high level of skill in the job that you do.

Becoming an expert takes time. Just because you get paid for something does not mean you are a professional/expert. You get paid for something because that's your job (for the time being).

I'm not referring to you as an idiot. However, if you continue to argue with me, you'll prove yourself to be one.

But this isn't even the point. The point is, charging $10 for a logo is extremely underpaid. If you even have the skill to create a decent logo, then you need to up your prices.

Well, its true logos cost $100 dollars for, but as the economy is today, people don't have the money to pay top $$$ for a truly professional theme or logo. I would suggest the $10 logos because if he could deliver a professional logo for cheap, you will get more customers, trust me. I'm also willing to do a logo for $10. PM if interested

I can get one customer, and my one customer is worth more than 10 customers is worth to you.

I don't need more customers. I'm simple just stating a fact.

If you don't believe me, go here: http://www.pacestudios.ca/ it's a web design firm. Click on their "web design" link. Take a look at their prices, and if you still believe in only charging $10 for a professional, find a new career field, because you will get nowhere in this field.

Also, I think the both of you need to read this article: http://www.pearsonified.com/2006/06/how_much_should_a_design_cost.php

It might be long, but it might actually help you out in your design career. Here's a quote from the article:

And yes, that is a fair price. If you disagree with me, read the article.

Like I said earlier, its true that website designs is around that much. But this person is asking for a Logo design, thats all. Their not looking for a full flash website and enriched with content. Clearly stating, I'm not trying to get a company business right now. Maybe in the future I will, but at the moment I'm just trying to get around like some people here is. I said, if that person can produce a professional logo that looks just like real professionals like Pace Studios, people ain't going to buy a $100 to 300 logo when they can get it cheaper and they WILL go for the cheapest with quality ( Compared like the Wii to the PS3). Yes, you may have customers, but not everybody is rich and can afford to purchase a logo, just a plain logo for that much. I really don't care what the thing is, let the customer be the judge, you feel me?
