    Im not sure if its human nature or just me, but I find it very hard to read categories that are alphabatized horizontally rather than vertically.

    Does anyone else find that?

    Thanks! I'm really glad to have found this place and my Brother is too.. We were originally going to do this together with Infopeek.net - but decided it would be too difficult to go 50/50 on it. Honestly, Clasione didn't even care whether or not he was getting 50/50 but I'm a stickler and wanted everything to be even - to the point of me being a PITA. :p So he went and did his own. I tend to make things more complicated than they need to be at times. :eek:

    Traffic is the name of the game no matter what you put up, there are so many directories and search engines now that you will have to focus on quality when building a directory so it does not get tagged as a link farm by Google.

    One of the problems you will face for the directory when adding search engine to it is the search engines will beat you down because they will look at the pages as competition, so instead of giving your directory PR they could beat it down.

    So you will just have to do your best in a very crowded market, the concept of a human edited directory is difficult as many are looking and hoping DMOZ will do away with that concept and automate the directory, so you have a hard task ahead of you.

    YES me and Sal are both glad to have involvment in DP....

    Honestly, I don't know how in the world I didn't get involved here long ago...

    I remember stoping in some time in the past, but for what ever reason I left and never found my way back till recently....

    This place is pretty amazing. I have been a long time poster at http://www.seochat.com - from back in the day when it began and Darin Ward was on the board daily... I havent even had the chance to chat with him in years...

    DP is rapidly becoming an every day thing for me these days....

    As far as the search engine, I'll put some real good work into it...
    It is an saturated market, and when I say saturated, I mean completely drenched... But there is always a way to squeeze something in...

    We'll see what happens.... But I can't say it aint fun.... :)

    Shawn has more here at DP, but I have seen a lot more on other forums, some of these geeks have 50,000 plus man :eek:
