I need your opinion on how you prefer online communities to be. Do you prefer forums to communicate rather than a social media platform like facebook? I know the two platforms are quite different, but I am trying to determine if people would prefer to use a platform to communicate in this (a forum) way, or still have the forum platform, yet have the many features that something like facebook has to offer. Thanks. Try and look at it like this: If DP was more like facebook, would that be a good or bad thing?
facebook and A forum are very different , no comparison between a forum and social network .. I will prefer to communicate with friends on Facebook because it is easier through chat
Thanks for your reply. Its difficult to try and put it into perspective. Imagine a forum, just like this one. It does everything you need it to do, but then along comes along a forum that has many more features and more interactivity. Would you prefer to stick with the older version or would you prefer to use a much more powerful version with a social media element attached? Thanks
I think it is an unique idea to combine forum functionality and social media elements as on facebook. It will be something new on the Web and it will attract more users.
It depends on what type of communication was it. DP was more for professional communication, of course because it is about business Facebook platform was for casual communication, for friends, classmates etc...
I prefer the layout and so forth of facebook, but DP & Facebook have two totally different purposes. Facebook is more for saying/posting short things whereas on DP you post articles and discuss marketing plans at great length. I'd keep both as they are for their current uses.
Hey I personally prefer social media platforms like facebook, myspace, etc. The reason for this is that they are WAY MORE dynamic, have more features, have multimedia sharing and commenting capabilities and best of all they are extremely addictive and FUN Moving on, if DP was based on the platform of social media networks, it WOULD have more cool features like the ones I mentioned earler, and would provide a more user friendly experience. I am not saying it lacks in that department here, but just making a point.
Forums and Facebook are totally different. A forum like this is where you can interact generally anonymously and discuss things where you have a specific interest; with Facebook, you interact with people you already have a personal connection with. They may seem closely connected but they are very, very far apart.
