Currently, i have 6 125x125 adspots on my website on the sidebar on all pages: technouz.com

I'm thinking of removing these altogether and replacing them with a different for at and wanted to get some opinions from you guys, whether you browse websites, advertise on websites etc etc.

The idea of 125x125 banners is to create an overflow in terms of income/outcome of the site. $5 dollars here and there means nothing to me but it acts as an introductory adspots since its so cheap and it helps smaller webmasters advertise.

I am thinking about replacing these with some 300x100 adspots instead.

Do you think this would be more effective? Would people prefer them because they're bigger? Would people be discouraged because they'd have to specifically designed a banner to fit?

Would appreciate any feedback you can offer!

From my experience, larger square shaped banner ads work alot better (they convert better), so you're better of with one or two of those. Also, too many choices, people won't make a choice. Less is more. Good luck!

I agree. Less is more. I personally as user when I visit a website and see an ads, I mostly click large square ads or 728 x 90 ads. I rarely click 125 x 125 ads unless it's very interesting.

Well, you can use both 125x125 and 250x250

so the size would fit, two 125x125 banners = one 250x250 and you can charge accordingly, i.e., $5 and $10.

I'd keep it the way you have it now. More advertising space. You can easily add 2, 4, 6 more ads with this banner size, however you will be limited if you go for a larger banner size.

You have to do the tests. In my opinion size 125x125 is a wide-spread standard for technology blogs and yet the works. You should also make available other sizes such as 300x250 for advertisers. It is true that the effectiveness of such advertising is greater.
