Im looking for a forum admin/leader to help move a Webmaster Forum forward.

Please only respond to this Post if you have over 300 posts here at DP

Some of the duties expected of the forum admin/leader follows:

    * Creating interesting topic thread to keep discussion going
    * Replying to post that needs response.
    * Encouraging members to post and discuss.
    * Running competitions and other stuff that stimulated discussions
    * Promoting the forum when the opportunity arises
    * Encouraging lurkers to be come members.
    * Problem solving , i.e if a new member has a problem you go out of way to find a solution.

If you are interested in this position, please PM me , tell me about your experience and salary expectations per month.

    Desirable quality from applicant

    1. Don't have to be native English speaker but you must be able to communicate in quality English with as little typos as possible if any typos at all.
    2. You must have been a webmaster for at least 1 year and know about webmastering issues such as SEO, Web Hosting and general webmaster activities.
    3. Although i have nothing against the age of the applicant i would prefer that you are over 20 for this job, unless you can show that you are mature enough to run a forum and have a vast knowledge of the subject.

The forum in question is : http://forum.triphp.com , some of you may know of it already , i have recently acquired it from the previous owner that just left it to rot and took the site down for 6 months.

What i would expect also if for at least 3 new topics a day and responding to other peoples posts.

Im afraid im not looking to pay that amount , if people paid that much for some one to manage a forum which gets hardly any spam and their main job is to just make threads then i would be Admin at about 10 forums and not bother doing anything else lol

The requirements you stated need a lot of attention and are not just limited to spam management. it includes topic creation, forum promotion and so on. i think the price quoted is fairly moderate.

You are correct i should have been more precise in what i wanted, The reason for writing such a detailed post was purely to attract the right kind of person that would be suited to the job and not every tom, dick and harry that just wants it for the power of being a mod.

Any ill say this, the Job will entail the following "with Description"

    * Creating interesting topic thread to keep discussion going

I would think this is a standard part of the job which everyone would agree its not that difficult but is integral for the forum to become more active.
    * Replying to post that needs response.
Again Another dudy that a mod would expect to do
    * Encouraging members to post and discuss.
Again Pretty basic stuff and really should be part of the first bullet, if a post is written in a way which people have to respond then in turn you are encouraging members to post.
    * Running competitions and other stuff that stimulated discussions
This is just being creative and all costs involved with the competitions will be covered by the forum and not the mod.
    * Promoting the forum when the opportunity arises.
By this i didnt mean that you would have to start Marketing and helping with SEO for the forum , it was purly meant that you plug the forum with every given chance you have and maybe using one of you signature spaces on other forums that you use, i.e very little work involved.
    * Encouraging lurkers to be come members.
Again good qaulity posts and creative competitions will encourage lurkers
    * Problem solving , i.e if a new member has a problem you go out of way to find a solution.
Another basic thing that applicants should already have a good knowledge of the webmastering subject and as a mod its a pretty standard thing.

Hopefully ive explained it better now , i think anyone that knows about running a forum would agree there is nothing there that warrants a $400 a month, especially since we all have lives to live and your not expected to be at the forum 24 hours a day, just general visits through out the day, the job will probably only entail around 3 hours a day possibly not even that once the forum gets more active.

Now you have made things more clear. Still I would say what you are saying is a bit of task. I would assume that your forum is just starting up. In that case you can look up services where people would create accounts on your forum and start posting.

Normally people join a forum looking at the number of active users. that shows how quickly or efficiently a problem can be solved.

Having the presence of some celebrity equivalent person in your niche in the forum also invites more people. Since you have a webmaster forum , you need to find ways to take it one step further than the 1000's of webmaster forums out there.

One thing I think DP caught on fast was the revenue sharing feature. Similarly find some niche.

Now coming back to the post requirement I would look at hiring 5-10 forum posters who can post at different rates using different usernames created.

Then slowly build momentum and think about hiring mods.

Have you looked at the forum ? It not new just needs reviving because it was shut down for 6 months, there has already been a good response from the old members coming back and traffic is shooting back up again . Everything you have mentioned is already being taken care of, the reason for wanting another part of the Admin team is that it means it frees my self up a little time to work on other aspects of the site/forum.

What ive mentioned above is so basic I wouldn't expect any $400 requests to be honest, normally these positions are taken by volunteers in my other forums (which actually normally do a better job than paid persons ) but since the forum isn't incredibly active volunteers aren't an option at the moment, I would see that as they are either over anticipating what the job involves or they think I don't know what im talking about and are trying to take the piss lol.

But everyone is entitled to there opinion and of course more comments are very welcome.

P.s Thanks for all the PM's so far 3 people really stand out from the crowd at the moment, i will be reviewing all the PM's properly over the next couple of days and respond accordingly.
