Prefer to stay within the US as all my websites are located in and for the US.
Budget doesn't matter, looking for the best deal;
Right now I'm hosting my websites on my own VPs and paying over $40/month for that so paying for just web-hosting will be much cheaper than that so give me a price

Not looking for the big oversold webhosts that you get stuck on a shared hosting plan with 700 other sites sharing your ip and resources.
Have already been with hostgator before as well as hawkhost and fatcow.
All had hidden limitations like php memory limits, database limits, etc. and had very slow speeds at random times.

Looking for a "smaller" company that cares about my needs and can help with them.

Almost all shared/reseller hosts are going to have memory limitations, CPU limitations, etc. Otherwise, a user or two could go wild with server resources and ruin the quality of service for everyone else. If you are encountering those limitations, the VPS probably is the best choice for you right now, even though it is more expensive.

I am using tmdhosting for my wordpress-mu accounts. I checked and there is only 4 other domains on the ip.

I am not sure but I do believe addon domains is limited to 1000.
They are seeking out high cpu users so they must think they can handle it.
