Looking for ways to market my blog

What are the best ways to market ones blog? I am trying to increase my page ranking and visitors to my site for ad sponsorship.

 

Social bookmarking such as digg works great. Submit each blogpost to them.

 

Digg is one that works great . you should be posting and pining your blog on a daily basis using a pinging service such as Pingoat . This will increase your ranking with technorati especially and your blog will become more popular in the search engines.

 

Never seen something like Pingoat before. Pretty slick!

 

Yea, if you can get your story on social networking sites such as digg, reddit, or stumbleupon, you'll get a constant stream of traffic.

 

Maybe post it in the services section on this forum? thats free and it is a busy forum

 

Here's what you can try:

Write a killer content. And instead of writing down the title of your blog on your signature, you should write down the title of that killer post!

Submit to blog directories and web directories under the right categories.

 

I've seen a wordpress plugin which automatically social bookmark your new blog post to 12 social bookmarking sites - I've heard good things about it.

 

1) Write killer content that people would want to read and bookmark

2) Hit mybloglog.com and other social networking sites for bloggers. Try to get a nice blogroll going.

3) TONS of blog comments -- not for linkback spam but to demonstrate to other bloggers that you are serious and knowledgable and worth having a link partnership with.

 

I use autopinger.. Pay attention to Google - ping them everytime you add fresh content and don't forget to use a Google sitemap.
