    Im looking for particular tips for this page

    now im talking just this page not the whole site.

    ATM, im 7th in google for the term, 'using hyperlinks'

    any tips on what i could do to get this particular page higher?

    Well; I'm no expert, but this is what I would do:

    I would change the title:

    <title>Using hyperlinks to link to other HTML pages - The HTML Tutorial</title>

    To:

    Using Hyperlinks in a web page. I would also use the h1 tag for this too, instead of the h2 tag.. If it's too big visually; use css to reduce it.

    I would also add the meta description tag: Using Hyperlinks in a web page.
    I would also add a keyword metatag: Using Hyperlinks in a web page

    If you don't want to use the Using Hyperlinks in a web page as your main phrase, then change it to Using hyperlinks to link to other HTML pages - The HTML Tutorial, also using the keyword metatag and description metatags with the exact same phrase.

    Make sure your page validates too.

    It gives you an insight into how well you are doing against your competitors in terms of backlinks, allinanchor placement, total site pages. Using this you can try to assess how much extra (additional backlinks, more content) you may need to gain higher placement. Just type in your page URL and the keyword phrase 'Using hyperlinks' and study the results page. It can be an eye opener :eek:

    i cant get it working for phrases...

    i tried

    using hyperlinks
    "using hyperlinks"
    'Using hyperlinks'

    and they either failed or took me to a page with results for the word using....

    at the moment for all in anchor you are 8
    but you are 11 overall

    and you do't have any backlinks

    So you are - the "above" listing sometimes gives funny results !

    But you need more backlinks to climb up now as you are "ahead" of your allinanchor and your competition does not have many backlinks - beat those and you should be higher - remember that size is an influence as well :)
