The Best is more a function of the template than the CMS backend. I've seen some nice galleries on WordPress and Joomla and Drupal.
you can have the zenphoto for image management and get it integrated with wordpress if you want some writings needed in the site. zenphoto is the good and simple to customize the theme. you can try visiting cinesick which is build with zenphoto i can help you in customizing the theme if you like
ArunPS you have a configuration error There doesn't seem to be a wp-config.php file. I need this before we can get started. Need more help? We got it. You can create a wp-config.php file through a web interface, but this doesn't work for all server setups. The safest way is to manually create the file.
Gallarific is pretty good. I installed it on a friends website a few months back. It might be worth looking at if you are still after a script.
