Looking for the best Auction script (Itechbids, Phpprobid,??)

Discussion in 'Scripts' started by sethuhdiah, Jan 31, 2008.

I really need an auction script that can handle up to say 1mil users per day, and has 0 security holes.
I have been thinking between itechbids and phpprobid but I want to know if there is anything better?
I want to know that I could built an enterprise auction with this script and it will hold up perfectly fine.

Please give me all comments about auction scripts.
    Thanks

Itechbids is far better. I installed it myself. It supports everything in auction and many extra features
like 4 level affiliate, private auction etc. The best part is the pricing - almost half than that of probid.

I went through itechbids and phpprobid and neither of them were really good enough CMS wise, so I went with Joomla Auction Factory which seems to be working fine and the modifications are easy enough to make.
    Thanks for the tips

I paid for this script. I installed and it would not let users place auctions. I had them install and it would not work. I emailed them to tell them and tell them that they had a problem with the category.php page. They even had the problem on the demo one. They then fixed their demo and told me that they didnt have any problems. I asked for a refund after many back and forth emails to customer service. They ignored my request. I submitted a request through paypal. Paypal just deferred it. So I am out 125 for a non working script.

I did decide to go with phpprobid. It is kind of expensive, but at least the script works properly.

being a professional web developer, i wanted the best possible auction script for my own site. after reviewing all the available options, i decided to try itechbids. Initially i was a little skeptical because of its low price but they provided free trial & installations!!! And I was completely bowled over. On top of this the support system is simply superb. Hats off, will surely try other products from this company.

I actually have a problem with phpprobid install.

I set up the MySQL database in my CPanel ->
    created the database: items
    listed as: fashiona_items
added the user to it: fashiona_derek
    password: derek

Now I get the message when I put the stuff into the online database setup:
The connection to the database server was established successfully.
Error: Could not connect to the database items.

Why can't I connect using the install included with the product and what could be wrong? I know the password is right. Am I filling out the install form wrong?

phpprobid has good themes but expensive.

Any of their themes costs 400 GB Pounds, but they have great themes for all types of auctions out there.

I need something low cost and I need a Car themed auction script if any of you know where I could get one.

    Thanks

Did you try to use a CMS and to add an Auction extension? for instance Joomla together with Auction Factory

You can find a lots of templates (a lot free and very good ones for decent prices) and you can easy add Community features (forum, chat, profiles)

    Just a thought..

I tried AJ Auction system, only to find out you couldn't work with it what so ever, unless of course you purchased the enterprise edition that retails at $ 2938.53, no refunds are available once downloaded the system. I hope this helps someone out there.

By the way i am still looking for the perfect system, please PM if anyone has any suggestions.
