I believe this is a great name with huge potential. I just don't know what to do with it yet. First I was thinking one of those cloud tagging sites, then I've read tons of negatives about them. Second I thought of building a blog directory, but it would have to be a different type of directory, not just a directory listing Third I thought of building a site that would allow blog owners to list their blogs and then they would move up on the listing base on visitors rating fourth, I have no idea Looking for the ultimate idea for free link on the site once it's built.
Tag, You're It One of the blogs I read (I forget which!) made a "tag, you're it" post recently. Essentially it works like this - Someone thinks up a topic, makes a post and then 'tags' 5 other bloggers to make a post on the same topic. You could set up a community where bloggers could join to be part of the "tag, you're it" community. I see it working something like this: -- Someone wants to make a "tag, you're it" post on topic X. They make a post requesting other bloggers to participate in their new "tag, you're it" topic group. Once enough bloggers have joined the topic group, they make the post and tag 5 of the other bloggers who are participating. Those bloggers then make their posts and nominate 5 other bloggers from the topic group etc... -- You'll need a way to track who's been nominated and who can still be chosen for nomination so it will need bespoke coding. Although you may be able to kludge something together using forum software. Damn, that's a pretty good idea (even if I do say so myself) Use it wisely - hehe
I have also seen that "tag 5 blogs" idea used before and it seems a lot of bloggers do use it. My recommendation would be to do that.
