Try to match the right-hand side of the menu with the rest of the site as far as color goes -- make it greenish instead of red, then purple, then blue, then orange, then ...... It's the first thing I noticed when looking at the page. ~vip-ip.
You are using one of the default templates you should get a more unique template for the blog and you should add more graphics to make the blog look more appealing.
The content you have on the site is very informative, but the site's overall look is unappealing. Green, in my eyes, is unappealing; add a different color and maybe look into color theory because sometimes different emotions are brought on by colors seen on a site. I have no personal knowledge on color theory, but I've been recommended to look into it.
