Looking for solid advice on submitting articles for pr juice and traffic

OK, so I am looking to develop a site of mine that is over a year old and has been static for a pretty long time. The blog get's about 20-30 visitors per day, which isn't bad considering it hasn't been promoted much. I eventually want to build up a subscription base and monetize through clickbank products and private advertising but I know that is a long way off.

First, I know I need good content, PR clout and visitors (all inter-related things of course) and I want to achieve that by writing high quality blog posts and submitting the posts to article directories like ezine. I have a few questions though:

    1. How do you link back in a duplicate article (submitted to EZA for example) to your blog seamlessly? What do you say in the resource box? "Oh, you can read another copy of this article at my blog here:"
    2. (connected with first question) Is it viable to only submit a portion of my blog posts (say, for example, half) and provide a "Read More" link to my blog? If the content is very good, I am sure I can get high CTR. Has anyone tried this tactic?
    3. How much PR capitol can you gain from a link from a duplicate article within an article directory? My primary reason in submitting my posts to article directories is for PR juice, not traffic. I guess the question should be asked: will submitting the article to multiple directories (and linking back to my blog) ultimately result in a net positive or a net negative of the pages reputation as viewed by Google?

Thanks and I would appreciate any advice, specifically from experienced marketeers like dlm or alex.

    1. I would avoid posting duplicate articles. You will get the maximum benefit by posting unique quality articles. Ezine links have to be in the resource box. Simply state something like, "For more information on whatever please visit: whatever.com. etc... etc... etc..."

    2. Once again.... I would only post unique articles. Google has a duplicate content filter thus your duplicate article probably wont even rank, and wont be much in the help of link juice.

    3. Article directories are a great way of targeting different anchor texts. There are a lot better ways of getting juice, such as: one way links from related sites.

Unique content is going to be the name of the game.
Create high quality unique content and the links will be easy to get.

Often people will submit articles to EZINE and build links to those articles thus providing you with more "juice".

Focus your efforts on the Directories that get traffic and forget the rest. Look at the high ranking articles... compare what they are doing to what you want to do. Look at their resource blogs. Reverse engineer those articles to see where they are placing backlinks.

You can learn so much just from following the examples of people who are already there.

Then you need to realize this simple fact. As the niche becomes more competitive the weight/push you get just from links diminishes. Just having the most links doesn't mean that much in competitive niches.

duplicate content is a myth though (at least the way you mean it)

It's better to change the words or sentence structure, so that the content appears unique before posting to Ezine.
