    Dear Webmasters,

If you know of or own informative sites on Society (social issues, politics, men's issues, gay/lesbian/ bisexual issues, women, feminism) category, feel free to submit it to www.LinKernel.com

All quality sites will be approved. LinKernel is being heavily promoted and its offering free reviews before inclusion!

This is a good directory. However, I disagree with rule number 13 in your submission guidelines, which says "LinKernal does not allow deep links".

You should reconsider this, at least for paid submissions, because it arbitrarily reduces the possibilities and potential submissions for no plausible reason.

First of all, thank you for your post. As for deeplinks, my main concern is that it reduces visitor experience of the site in the sense that the visitor is "led" to a particular page by the webmaster and not by the site itself. I mean its like getting in a house through the backdoor...I believe a quality content-based well-designed website should speak for itself and offer an opportunity for the visitor to "discover" it once he is IN it! I know lot of directory owners charge for deeplinks...LinKernel charges fees for reviewing submitted links because it does take time to review a website and to make sure that it adheres to our guidelines. LinKernel offers 100% refund on disapproved submissions! We are looking for quality websites and we are not selling "links".Unfortunately, not all sites are accepted in LinKernel, paid or free. We also conduct periodic checks on sites already listed to make sure that the sites still abide by our guidelines and if they don't, we remove them from our database and a notice is sent to the site owner 7 days prior to the removal. LinKernel's policy on deeplinks is strongly based on my personal opinion about directory business. We offer reciprocal links only to related websites... Internet is a wonderful place and there are many quality websites we just don't know of because many lack funds for promotion etc. If any webmaster here in DP, submitter, reviewer or a general visitor can convince me as to why LinKernel Web Directory SHOULD accept deeplinks, I may change my mind one day ;) but for now...no deeplinks!

I understand your point of view in terms of maintaining the quality of the directory for the visitor experience. But most directories don't get many casual visitors. And from a business viewpoint, I believe you will get more paid submissions if you allow deep links, because in modern SEO deep links are what many site owners are trying hardest to get. Remember the old adage "give the customer what he wants". It's still very true. Also, this rule restricts your own freedom in judging what you will accept in your directory. It's possible that someone could submit a deep link that would meet your approval. I think you should give yourself the freedom to judge each case on its own merits.
