Looking for SEO friendly CMS

    I'm looking for a SEO friendly CMS. Could be .NET based or PhP. The CMS I am looking for, is for business purposes.

    Preferably it would have these features also:

    1) Browser maintained
    2) User friendly
    3) SEO support tools, like keyword density check, word count, keyword checklists etc.
    4) Tweakable code, ie. able to customize the CMS
    5) Able to make pages that can be validated by W3C

    Any recommandations?

    Definately take a look at Joomla with the SEF module, it seems to tick all of the boxes that you're looking for.

    What about Drupal? Using pathauto module it allows you clever URLS..

    Go for Joomla it is best. i am using it from a long time seo friendly. but it is php based.

    Also check out www.websitebaker.org. It is SEO'd by default without the need for any mod_rewrite. It is PHP based, but works on linux and windows. It creates individual files for each page, but it loads the data from mysql.

    My vote is for Joomla. I've done quite well with a few Joomla sites. Install the joomlatwork.com SEF patch - works quite well. Also, I've added SEF Advance for nice clean URLs.

    We are just about to release our content management system/development framework as open source, and looking for beta testers.

    The platform is already used for various sites such as www.space-carrers.com, www.chinese-tools.com, www.niab.com, etc ...

    But we are looking for people who are happy to spend a bit of their time to set their site themselves, and let us know how it goes. All support will be provided for free.

    The software comes with "SEO" features such as url rewriting or meta tags management, but also lexicon allowing to create internal cross linking automatically, RSS export of all the content, directory module, density calculator, etc ... )

    please drop me a line if you are interested in testing it out.

    I vote for Joomla, you can use components like opensef, 404sef or sefadvance abd customize almost everything.

    Probably too late for that, but how about iLister used as a CMS, not a classifieds engine? Has a great SEO-friendly functionality (fully customizable link formats), good CMS built-in (does anything, assigns keywords to pages, allows to create content modules and stick them anywhere in templates), custom Smarty template sets, any look and feel you can think of.
