Looking for SEO friendly CMS

Discussion in 'Content Management' started by rollytan, Dec 4, 2008.

Hi, I get all of my sites designed in html/css with header/mainbody/content breakdown then I code everything out in php/mysql

What I am looking for is an SEO friendly CMS that allows you to put in your header, CSS sheet, left or right bar, content pages and output them with correct titles, meta keywords, meta description etc. Something with very little overhead

    Please advise

    thanks in advance!

Joomla is quiet diff as compare to drupal. Wordpress can aslo do that, but wp is a blogging cms. however u can use it if u r newbie and don't know how to use joomla.

I like Joomla if you need a more complex website that WP allows. I don't believe it allows Tags though, at least it didn't 6-8 months ago.

Lol, Wordpress is 1001% complex than Joomla...
Joomla is 1001% is better than Wordpress.
    Joomla rocks while Wordpress sucks!

Better go with Joomla! You will love it..
If you are just looking for easy way with Blogs or normal site, then go with Wordpress.
    Thanks..

    This was a joke!

As a developer I say go with drupal. I had hard time getting joomla URLs SEO friendly.
But with drupal its a pretty easy job.

everything will be very easy when you learn it 100%.

With the latest Joomla release it has been built in to the CMS. You just change 2 options in the admin back end and you have SEF URL's!

Look into either Wordpress or Drupal and stay far, far away from joomla.

Do a search of digital point for "joomla hacked" and you will get more results then you care to read through. Then go to google and do a search for joomla hacked. When you get tired of reading through the security bulletins, "please help me my site was hacked" threads and everything else assocaited with joomla - then do the same thing for wordpress and drupal.

Do a search for big corporate sites running joomla, you will not find too many. Then do the same search for wordpress and drupal. Some of the biggest sites in the world run drupal or wordpress. The same can NOT be said about joomla. And there is a reason for that.

If you enjoy fixing your hacked site, go with joomla.

If you want a secure site, go with wordpress or drupal.

And between those two, wordpress has built in SEO features that are hard to beat.

I use Joomla for my site and I got it to be SEO friendly with some tools I had install. From what I read about Drupal it is SEO friendly right out of the box.

I've used Joomla and Wordpress, and find both to be fairly easy to understand and use. I tried older versions of Drupal (pre 5.x and 6.x branches) and found it a little confusing. I've heard the newer version is much better, but I have not tried it.

Wordpress seems to be very SEO friendly, and Joomla has many add-on modules that can help with SEO too.

subrion cms, you might want to check its core version. pretty easy to modify templates, and can be easily extended by plugins.
