Hi guys, I'm looking for a method to do LIVE broadcast for my church.. I heard that I need to buy scripts for it or use windows media encoder 9. Any guide or suggestion where i can do it? Is there any specific requirement that if i want to do broadcasting, do I need a specific/good server? (which also lead me to that I'm looking for a master reseller host that enables me to do broadcasting, selling hosting & etc) *I'm new in DP, i got a recommendation from a friend mention that DP is the best place for search for all information about hosting. Apologize for my poor English, if you have any things to make clear, please let me know. I'll try my best. Im not sure whether I'm posting at the correct place or not, admin feel free to move to the appropriate if there is a necessary. Thank You.
what media do you wish the video to be transmitted to? As in is it going to be watched online or is it gonna be watched by another service?
I'm not sure what media to use.(i total have no idea about it). what about mpg? It will be going to watch online for LIVE. Mean that I can watch through online if I'm not at my country.

I know Nullsoft do "Nullsoft Streaming Video" I think it is a free product. I am not entirely sure how you would go about streaming to it, as I only use Shoutcast (Audio only streaming).
Okay...from what I see you have two problems you have to solve here: 1) You need to capture your live event, get it transcoded into the correct format (whatever that may be), and then send it to some sort of streaming server 2) You need a streaming server that can take your live transcoded stream and then handle the redistribution across the internet with the necessary bandwidth. I am afraid I am not so sure how you do #1 "live"...but I can point you to a great idea for #2. First...if what you are looking for is "free" then this will probably not help. However, I do not know how many people you are expecting to be linked into this feed nor exactly what bandwidth per channel you are expecting. The key to the solution I am thinking of for the server part is Amazon Web Services (AWS) and a mutlimedia server called Wowza (wowzamedia.com). In short, AWS has something called Electronic Cloud Computing (EC2). It is basically a virtual computer that you rent BY THE HOUR! That is what makes it so cheap. You only use what you need....then turn the thing off when you are done. However, your costs are going to come in the form of bandwidth...they charge you for the amount of bandwidth "in" and "out" of the server. No getting around that...but...you will get a high quality server with lots of bandwidth to do this. Check out the pricing and info at aws.amazon.com. The second part, Wowza media server, has a 10-user license you can deploy for free. However, for a nominal fee, you can load one of the amazon EC2 servers with an UNLIMITED connection WOWZA server. Now, this solution is going to require some technical savvy to set this up, so you will need someone to help you who has some computer background. Pick someone you trust. Again on cost, your fixed costs will be relatively low (low-end amazon EC2 computer is charged at 10 cents per hour and I think the Wowza server image is around $5 PER MONTH...but you will have to double check). However, your variable cost are going to be the part you will have to carefully look at (some number of pennies per gigabyte out/in). I think this is a totally awesome solution, but again it is not free. You will have to do the math on the bandwidth of your stream and figure out the cost per user and such. Check on the wowzamedia.com site also for possible solutions to the transcoding problem to solve...they can probably help with that. I hope this is of some use to you.
