Looking for reputable backlink checking tool

Does anyone have a favorite backink checker? Ideally, something not "powered" by one of the big engines? If you have links / URLs, please list. I typed into G search but alot of those that come up, seem too much like ads or junk . . .

The sales page is hyped up but there is no better tool for checking links. It gives you the PR, how many outbound links on the page, tells you if the link is "nofollow" etc. worth every dime.

I use BLW and Yahoo mainly, but there is also SmartPageRank.Com, that gives you the number of backlinks in each of the search engines as well as your indexed pages in each search engine.
