Looking for reliable, cheap monthly hosting

I am looking to cut costs, i currently run on mt's grid hosting for $20 a month, their service is great but for my monthly bandwidth i think i can step it down a bit, does anyone know any reliable hosts with a similar plan as mt's grid hosting for less? i've been thinking of services like justhost, inmotion, webhostingpad, or hostgator, any suggestions based on experience would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks.

What about dreamhost? I understand they have some limited functionality unless you move to their VPS solution, but this
may not be a problem in your case.

I dont know how MT Grid hosting is different from standard hosting. But if you are looking for shared hosting and your deciding factor is cost (and not quality or timeliness of support) then there are lot many of cheap and/or free web hosts. For your traffic level you could also choose free hosting like 000webhosting, atgig.com, etc. Cheap hosting = justhost.com, webhostingpad.com.

Thanks for the replies, the deciding factors would mainly be cost, uptime and speed, if the latter two are satisfied i dont think adequate support would be necessary, also the host should be able to handle 1k-2k impressions a day.

Most reliable hosts should be able to do this without a problem.

Out of all of those the only one I would suggest would be HostGator, I've seen a lot of bad things about all the rest. Good luck!

So are you downgrading or you are looking another web hosting service delivered from any kind of load-balanced server infrastructure? Because going for a "cheap" class web hosting is not be the best you'd do.

I would recommend that you check HostGator and HostForWeb they are serious hosting companies.

thanks for the replies everyone, i've moved to hostgator and the dns transfer is currently in progress, i hoped it would happen quicker as with mt (instant), it's been over 24 hours and locally the dns still not updated, however accessing the site via a proxy shows the new dns settings are live.

You may try a private label online web site builder application for web hosting and web designers. Your end users can create professional looking websites using WYSISWYG editor and professional layouts.

Me thinks the above post is an advertisement.

I'd recommend hawkhost over hostgator. And no, I don't own the company/work there. :)

Their hosting is really good. The servers are quick and loaded with good (and updated) software, and the plans are priced very well.

I'm pretty sure they have a presence on these forums.
