Hello, I'm starting Payment Processing business, and need to buy a working Payment Processing software (2checkout.com for example), client side and server side, but can't find any for sale. Can you please direct me to sellers of such software?

It's all proprietary. I think there are a few companies that offer processing software packages, but the cheapest I've seen any sell for is many tens of thousands of dollars, and would still require extensive customizing. The main problem is that there is no means of connecting to processing platforms without some very solid relationships with banks and processors. This information is all proprietary and confidential as well. It costs thousands to certify software on these platforms, and since every one is unique, there's nothing readily available to use.

Thank you for answering, maybe you remember the names (or links) of the few companies that offer processing software packages? I know it's not going to be an inexpensive process, but error in this field can cost even more, so I'm looking for ready and tested solutions, heavy customizing is better than developing from scratch.

IMO, from scratch is better, that is what I did. a custom system wil be your competitive edge. with the right design, the implementation can go smooth.

Design is the easiest part of the whole thing, and it has very little to do with the underlying software.. take a designer, explain how you'd like your interface, and forget about it.

The software part is the difficult one, security things, which I know nothing about.. even when you got software engineer who specializes in security, there might be things about processing that he'll miss, and one little security hole can cost you heavily in this business, that's why I'm looking for proven to work software solutions, at least the packages, if not the complete deal.

If anyone got links or examples of such things, please reply.

design has everything to do with the underlying software. the software is the implementation of the design. You are confusing ux and layout with overall software design. Ux is just one tier and should have its own framework outside of the business rules and persistance.

jNorth, sorry, I misunderstood you, I'm dealing a lot with websites that should satisfy customers needs, with "design" the first thing that jumped into my head was company's website design and user interface.. totally missed you there :)

So you built the whole thing from a scratch? If you don't mind, I'll PM you later with few questions.

ps: I asked on about 20 top google forums by the search "payment processing forum", this is the only forum where someone understood what I'm talking about, instead of offering payment gateways integration solutions.

I'll try to dig one up. For a while there were several companies offering what you are looking for. I can't seem to find any of them any more.

Yes, I understand the need to 'dumb' it down. most people equate design with UI. and yes, I did it all from scratch. Not just payment processing, but content management, accounting, fullfillment, inventory control, shipping (and postage) are all part of my solution. I like having complete control down to the lowest level. It is a part of my competitive edge. also, when a zero-day vulnerability is discovered in a commercial package, I am essentially immune. Hackers try, but they don't get anywhere.

it is nice to be able to have inhouse dev, but I know it is not for most people.
