    Hi all,

Doing some off-page SEO for a few different clients and, having guest blogged, added the sites to free directories, etc. I think its probably best to look at getting anchor text links added onto high PR directory pages - these are the ones that usually charge.

So, before I go spending any money, I thought I'd ask some advice.
It's best to look for directories in the sites specific niches, right?

Also which are your favourites and what would you say is a reasonable price for directories with PRs of 4 and over?

    Thanks in advance,
    Kieron

You are correct. Start with directories in the niche. Then look for directories where the page or category where you'll be listed is indexed in Google. Here's a list of best value paid directories that scores PR and Alexa rating vs. price. You can also use the search on the site to find directories that meet your own criteria.

Just want to be clear here that the directories that "usually charge" are the ones that actually care about the content and maintain them. They are not necessarily charging for PR or anchor links, etc...

The ones that do not charge usually care little about the content, are inundated with crap and tend to have a lot of duplicated or outdated entries. You are on the right track going the paid route though... Its that attention to detail and content rich nature that keeps a directory value high.

Sure that would really help your cause. Just make sure that everything is SE friendly and you won't get punished for it. Make sure your keywords are in the anchor text that is clickable.

You can also get some very good DEEP backlinks by submitting your site to a good directory. You can check mine if you want, it's FREE and I accept only original content.
